WiTCH to Watch - Lisa Ventura MBE

Welcome to November's WiTCh to Watch, where we interview an inspirational woman in tech and cyber security each month.

This month, we talked with Lisa Ventura MBE, who got her MBE for service to cybersecurity and equality just earlier this year. She is an award-winning cyber security specialist, content writer, speaker, and the founder of Cyber Security Unity, a global community organisation dedicated to bringing together individuals and companies who actively work in cyber security to help combat the growing cyber threat. Lisa is also a cyber security mindset and mental health coach and offers help and support to those affected by stress, burnout, bullying/abuse and mental health issues in cyber security and Infosec. To top it all off, she is one of the co-founders of International Impost Syndrome Awareness Day, through which she hosted a full-day webinar full of great talks on women, neurodiversity, and imposter syndrome. You can check out the recordings and keep updated on future events here.

She has written two books highlighting inspirational stories from women taking the cyber security industry by storm, which you can find on Amazon: Volume 1 and Volume 2.

In this episode, Lisa and Illyana talk about being loud for the right reasons and the unfortunate culture of bullying in cyber security, all on top of Lisa's journey into technology and advice that she would give to her younger self.

You can also watch the interview on YouTube, which contains close captioning, or listen to it on Spotify. If you want more, make sure to like and subscribe!
